Kaye Adams Instagram – The wonderful @catherinerussell529 posted the most joyful little video celebrating her 60th on TikTok a couple of days ago, and it stopped me in my tracks.
Particularly when she talked about how important it is to actually celebrate getting older, especially as a woman. Not just tolerate it, or hide it under Botox and hair dye, but to say: I’ve made it this far, and that’s something to be proud of.
I’m a couple of years ahead of her, and after years of all the angst and faffing and dread… I’m finally with her on this.
It is a marvellous bloody thing.
This stage of life is where we finally get to ask: What do I actually want now?
So Catherine, happy birthday, and thank you. You’ve said something a lot of us needed to hear.
