Lucy Dacus Instagram – Clearing the decks for whatever is next, here’s everything left of Forever Is A Feeling: demos, live recordings, new versions, and unheard songs. I’m calling it The Archives, and it was very fun to put together, like a scrapbook. You can hear it all October 10th, and there’s a preorder open now for vinyl (with two more songs) that will ship before the holidays.
About each song:
Best Guess (wedding version) – re-recorded this stripped down with the band
Bullseye with Hozier at Radio City – glad there’s a document of @hozier surprising me, he absolutely clears me vocally on this by the way
Losing – new song I’ve been describing to friends as “pathetic”
Ankles (demo) – recorded on my phone, home alone on Christmas
Talk at Red Rocks – only on the vinyl, loved this show, Phoenix’s violins sound extra good on this
Time In A Bottle – my favorite Jim Croce song, and one of the best songs ever
Lost Time (extended) – over a minute more lyrics to this one, something I knew I wanted to do since the start, very satisfying to let it keep growing through the year
Bus Back To Richmond – this one got cut from the record, and it’s already out but it feels like it should be included here
