Maybe some people got to see their first gay wedding and noticed the world did not crumble under their feet lol. But sincerely, doing these weddings has been a huge honor. Can’t believe that so many of you were willing to share your Big Day with the rest of us. I hope every single one of you never experiences a bad day for the rest of your life. And fuck the state for continually toying around with the idea of revoking marriage equality. It wasn’t a prereq, but 120 of the marriages were between queer people. Plenty of people made this decision because they weren’t sure how long they would have the chance, or never planned to have a ceremony because their families were unsupportive. I don’t know what to say other than I hope you find love in your heart. Everyone deserves to choose their own family.

The Archives are out now and I hope you like it. I didn’t really realize what it meant to me until it came out late last night. I know people can sometimes think companion pieces are an afterthought, but I’ve been thinking about this for as long as I’ve been thinking about Forever Is A Feeling. It was a place to put ideas over the years, to keep the door open on these songs, which is not a mentality or experience I’ve had making an album before. It was nice, feeling like I had a second chance or another turn in my pocket. Now it feels like my turn is over and everything is on the table. I thought about naming this Forever Is Over because that’s how it feels. Not like I’m fully disappearing, there are still some shows to do, but I get to start thinking about anything else, about making something from nothing again. I’m really proud of what me and my team and my band have done this year. I got to see some of my oldest ideas become reality. I had a lot of fun around the world with people I love, and with ~you~. All of you, no matter how many there are, add up to one dear friend of mine, and I try not to take you for granted. I’m calling it The Archives, and it was very fun to put together, like a scrapbook. You can hear it all October 10th, and there’s a preorder open now for vinyl (with two more songs) that will ship before the holidays.
