Tara Sharma Instagram – Lakmé founded by Simone Tata who sadly passed a few days ago, is an iconic brand. Never met her but as I appeared in a few Lakmé ads way back and more recently invest a
bit in Trent, thanks to her amazing Westside vision, I have a lot of respect for her.
A little appreciation post.
Being of mixed heritage myself, half Indian half English with my amazing Eng mum very much living here in Bombay for over 50 years now, I have a soft spot for these adventurous, amazing adaptable women who left what was perhaps a seemingly easier life to love and make India home and bring up their mixed families, us, here.
A long full life. 95.. So less perhaps a mourning post and more a celebration of a life well lived and legacy of vision, empathy and more.
Deepest condolences to all her family and loved ones.

4 before digital cameras and mobiles I kept hard copies of my films and ads etc and have the files. Yep I was a nerd, still am haaha. Fun to look back sometimes.

Ah and @roopaksaluja ‘s @bangbangmediacorp has produced quite a few ad films for Lakmé too.
PS yes I chose a literal track again. Lakmé. As the brand was apparently named after the French opera of the same name.
