This award is especially meaningful to us. Though our film is surreal and playful, at its heart, we wanted to speak about urgent realities: how queer intimacy is still policed, how surveillance is seeping into our daily lives, and how conformity is so often enforced by ordinary people — even good people, for whom it’s simply easier to acquiesce.
