Three packed days of my film screenings, multiple conversations, on and off the record.
Lot of sharing, listening, thinking. The brain is happy 🙂
Thank you, Malavika, for the invitation and for bringing such wonderful authors, artistes and audiences together.
And the venue itself was special: the old Alipore Jail, now a museum — tall red brick walls, layered histories, quiet charm from another time.
Kolkata never disappoints. An informed, curious audience that reads, watches, debates…catching up with old friends and meeting strangers with equal depth, you rarely find elsewhere.
Didn’t quite manage a proper food crawl this time, but there was plenty of food for thought. Came back with two big boxes of nolen gur sandesh for me and my loved ones, enough to fatten me and them!
Wore a mix of my old outfits and some new. A special mention to the colourful kurta and scarf by @paromitabanerjee — always a joy to wear clothes made by someone whose sensibilities and intent align. Thank you Paromita for adding cheer to a very rushed day and to Ipshita for taking some of these photos.
