Nandita Das Instagram – A short hectic trip to Delhi was worth it. Always happy and inspired to meet people who work on the ground and put their neck on the line for a larger good. It gives me hope for a more just world.
So glad I made Zwigato, a mirror to the reality of the gig workers. The post film discussion was not about the film, and yet it was everything that the film talked about! They raised urgent questions around the human cost of conveniences that platform-driven economies provide us.
Very grateful to the gig workers association for bringing them together to share their stories candidly and courageously.
This is why some of us make films — to create space for those that have been made invisible. Discussions like these give cinema meaning far beyond the screen.
