Priscila Buiar Instagram – What a wonderful surprise I had at @nyshorts
I went to NY to experience the festival and to attend the first screening of @amot_movie with our amazing team and dear friends. I had no idea there was a Best Actress category or even that I was nominated. This was my first professional project acting in another language, and winning this award means so much to me.
AMOT is inspired by the story of a very close friend of mine, but while creating my character Milena, I realized that she also represents the lives of many other people in the country who are – and have always been – in a very delicate situation. We end up getting used to the news, the numbers, the statistics… and we forget that we’re talking about the lives of thousands of people. Human beings, with their stories and journeys. AMOT was made to remind us to look at others with gentle, human eyes, so we don’t forget that what truly makes us who we are is love and empathy.
