Sharmila Faruqui Instagram – Today, as we launched the HPV vaccination campaign at Ayesha Bawany Academy, Karachi, Pakistan achieved a major milestone in protecting the health of our girls. This life-saving vaccine will safeguard girls aged 9 to 14 from cervical cancer, a preventable disease that still leads to around 5,008 new cases and nearly 3,200 deaths every year in our country. With the commitment of the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Sindh, and support from @WHOPakistan, @UNICEFPakistan, and gavi, this free nationwide campaign will reach 15 million girls in its first phase and expand to 17.8 million through routine immunization. By protecting our daughters today, we are investing in a healthier and brighter future for Pakistan.
