Reflecting back on 2025 as I step into 2026. So much to thank God for: the blessings, the love, family, the people I got to spend time with, all the new people I got to work with, and the new places I got to visit for the first time (Budapest! Poland! Morocco! Senegal!). I am also thankful for every lesson learned, the struggles and all the wisdom they wrought, how that prepares me all the more for the year ahead. 2026. Let’s do this. Happy New Year, everyone! #2025 #RIPPapi #AndrewLincoln @almasi.arts #GoréeIsland #MonumentdelaRenaissanceAfricaine

I heard we were looking back on our 2016’s? Well… Ten years ago today I founded #LOVEOURGIRLS stating: “I HAVE ALWAYS HAD A PASSION FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS, A HOPE TO SEE THEM FUNCTION ON THE SAME PLAYING FIELD AS MEN AND HAVE THE SAME OPPORTUNITIES AND APPROPRIATE PROTECTIONS. I WANT TO BE MORE THAN AN ACTRESS AND STORYTELLER BUT AN ADVOCATE FOR WOMEN, NOT ONLY IN UNDERDEVELOPED COUNTRIES BUT ALL OVER THE WORLD.” That was the spark that ignited #LoveOurGirls. The spark that had me rededicating my birthday, #ValentinesDay, to loving our girls and women around the world, bringing awareness to their plights and celebrating the courage of many who fight for change. Looking back over these ten years, I am overwhelmed by the inspiring organizations, activists, leaders and warriors we have had the honor to amplify. A decade of emphasizing “love” as a verb, not a noun, for women worldwide. Today, I am still seeking to #LoveOurGirls all these years later, to rededicate my efforts to women and girls across the world, amplifying their voices and advocating for them. In the #LoveOurGirls spirit of highlighting the girls we love, I’d be remiss not to spotlight the woman who has remained my constant inspiration over these ten years, and whose example has been the most powerful and edifying for me throughout my adult life: our former First Lady, @MichelleObama. Her grace, humanity, leadership, and integrity have guided me in becoming a better activist, listener, and woman. Her courage has opened many doors for women and girls, speaking up for what and whom she believes in. The example she sets is one I am deeply thankful for, she is a role model for myself and so many others. In 2016, and now in 2026, our mission remains: standing up for our girls and women globally to lessen the gender gap inch by inch. Following Michelle Obama’s lead, and the lead of all the incredible women I met during this journey, to move forward with love, grace and generosity of spirit. Thank you for walking this decade-long path with me. 💕 Happy Day of Love. “LOVE your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39)

As we honor the legacy of our great national hero, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., let us not forget the powerful example he left for us all to follow. Stand up for what’s right, serve our communities, respect and affirm each other’s humanity, and fight injustice in all its forms. Now, more than ever, I pray all of us can find a glimmer of Dr. King’s courage and altruism. #Service #MLK
