Ellie is a 5 yo, 68 lbs, lab-hound mix. She spent the first 4 years of her life as a neglected backyard dog, then as a stray. Despite her past, Ellie is resilient!She is pure joy and loves everyone. Ellie has a signature move; she tucks her head and does a somersault! She had never lived in a home, so she has been in a live-in training program to get the skills she needs to succeed! She is good on leash, has solid recall, sit, down, place and is crate trained. She has an abundance of energy and is always up for an off-leash adventure. Ellie is good with dogs of all sizes.
Chip “Chippy” is a 3.75 yo, 63 lbs, labrador-cattle dog mix (DNA tested). Chip is a higher energy dog who loves off-leash adventures and playing with dogs of all sizes. Chip bonds quickly and would be a great road trip companion, running companion and ride or die! He needs a strong leader to look to for guidance, as he is highly intelligent and can calculate how to make mischief. He is also very sensitive and soulful. He does have non-destructive separation anxiety (aka FOMO), but has been in a live-in training program, which has helped assuage it. Chip has great recall, solid sit, down, place and is crate trained. He can have a sensitive stomach, but it’s managed with a limited ingredient diet. Chip is a great dog! He loves to offer his belly for rubs and nestle his head into a hug.
Both Ellie and Chip’s adoption(s) comes with required training sessions to transfer the training so that it can be maintained until she/he settles in successfully.
Ellie and Chip have become best buddies, but they are not a bonded pair. Their adoptions are separate, as it is too challenging to find a great home for two larger breed dogs.
