Heather Land Instagram – Thank you guys for all the love you showed my daughter in my recent post. I think it’s true – we appreciate honesty. We appreciate when people can be real in front of us. It gives us “permission” to be real right back. And if we can’t be real, what’s the point?!
I said it in my post and I’ll say it again – we all have issues. I’m in the middle of getting transparent with some my own right now.
It is so uncomfortable.
It is absolutely exhausting.
And yet…
I want to be better for myself and my family. For you all. And I want to be real. We have enough fake on the internet to last us a lifetime. I’m not saying we have to air out all our dirty laundry (unless you just want to). But I AM saying, the more honesty we can show the world the more honest they can become with themselves and those around them.
Being honest with yourself is one of the hardest things on living earth, but the freedom that comes with it, and the impact it has on others, well…that’s worth it.
I hope knowing that other people have struggles (even people with a big following on social media) can help you take a deep breath today. I hope you feel more OK with yourself than you did a minute ago. And I hope you feel less shame and less alone. Because you’re one of many who are the same as you – bent but not broken.
