I do not miss the days of frantic calls from school begging me to bring her forgotten Stanley cup – forgotten math homework? Possibly. An overpriced water bottle? Nah girl. I ain’t doin it. Mama’s, you are on mind this morning. I know you’re out there just trying to live your life instead running a nonprofit Uber Delivery service for your kids who literally have one job: take all your crap with you when you leave. What is the craziest thing your kid has asked you to bring them to school? And more importantly, did you do it?
After nine months of working on herself at the Hope Recovery Center, my daughter got her first overnight pass the day of my son’s wedding. Having her home to experience this with us was one of the best moments of my life. Getting ready with her – watching everyone who hasn’t seen her in nine months love on her and show their pride in her – watching her make good choices for herself. I was just so proud. Proud of my son. Proud of my daughter. And grateful for the moment and for how far God has brought this family in these past few months.

SOMETIMES IT’S JUST HARD TO BE GRATEFUL. That’s the truth. We’re not always in a great mental space. Sometimes we’ve got crap going on in our lives that make gratitude something we’ve gotta dig for. This year I’m somewhere in the middle. Sadly, it wouldn’t take me two seconds to spout off all the things I’m NOT grateful for. (Currently working on this.) Being grateful takes more intention but truthfully, it does more for my mental health and heart space than being negative ever will. Gratitude is worth the dig, folks. It ain’t rocket science but sometimes we (I) sure act like it is. So, in spite of things I can’t change and situations that aren’t always ideal, here are a few things that I AM grateful for this year. -Amazon -Jeans that fit -Not being pregnant -My husband’s calm, sweet presence and perpetual optimism -Instacart -The right migraine medicine -My daughter’s recovery – her choosing to work hard on herself and complete a year-long program in spite of how she feels -Food Network holiday shows -My son – the way he is growing into manhood – his excitement about getting married -Having coffee in my office everyday while looking out the window -Celebrate Recovery -The song “On Time God” that I listen to a thousand times a day -Adding a stocking to the mantle this year for my future daughter-in-law -Botox -Fun work coming up -A few really amazing friends -The way Walmart is really stepping up their fashion game -ALL OF YOU Your turn. Dig deep. Share with us what your grateful for. And Happy Thanksgiving 🍁

Ladies. Be honest. What’s worse: a mammogram or a pap-smear? 😂
If you feel like a lunatic, I promise, you are NOT alone!! Sincerely, a fellow menopausal lunatic. – Did y’all watch @oprah’s special on Monday? Let’s talk 👇🏼 – – #meopause #hrt #hormonereplacementtherapy #perimenopausehealth #menopausematters
Well…this is offensive.
Anyone else’s husband do this? 🤣
If your TikTok algorithm is your gynecologist… we need to talk. I was self-diagnosing at 2 am. Is it anxiety? Thyroid? Am I just dramatic? Why am I hot but also freezing? Why am I crying at dog food commercials? Turns out, perimenopause can look like a personality crisis. And nobody really warns you about that part. Instead of guessing, I booked a virtual visit with a @midihealth clinician who actually specializes in this stage. Not just “women’s health” in general — but this specific season of life. Real medical evaluation. Real treatment options. Real answers that didn’t start with, “That’s just part of getting older.” Because WebMD doesn’t prescribe HRT. A trained clinician does. And scrolling comment sections is not a treatment plan. We go to specialists for all of our other medical needs — heart doctors for our heart, dermatologists for our skin — and I love that Midi specializes in women’s health, especially midlife hormone health. It made me feel seen instead of dismissed. You don’t have to white-knuckle your way through this. You don’t have to guess. And you definitely don’t have to crowdsource your symptoms from strangers on the internet. Google is free. Relief is better. #MidiHealthPartner For Instagram, click on the link in bio for more information. For Facebook, link comments for more information. They accept insurance in all 50 states.
Thank you guys for all the love you showed my daughter in my recent post. I think it’s true – we appreciate honesty. We appreciate when people can be real in front of us. It gives us “permission” to be real right back. And if we can’t be real, what’s the point?! I said it in my post and I’ll say it again – we all have issues. I’m in the middle of getting transparent with some my own right now. It is so uncomfortable. It is absolutely exhausting. And yet… I want to be better for myself and my family. For you all. And I want to be real. We have enough fake on the internet to last us a lifetime. I’m not saying we have to air out all our dirty laundry (unless you just want to). But I AM saying, the more honesty we can show the world the more honest they can become with themselves and those around them. Being honest with yourself is one of the hardest things on living earth, but the freedom that comes with it, and the impact it has on others, well…that’s worth it. I hope knowing that other people have struggles (even people with a big following on social media) can help you take a deep breath today. I hope you feel more OK with yourself than you did a minute ago. And I hope you feel less shame and less alone. Because you’re one of many who are the same as you – bent but not broken. Hang in there. 💪🏼 XO
You are not alone. Period. 💖 Mid-life can feel like one big “WTF is happening?” moment. Relationship changes, career shifts, parenting challenges, menopause—it’s a lot. And sometimes, you just need someone in your corner helping you find your way forward (with a little humor sprinkled in, of course). That’s exactly why I started life coaching—because I know how hard it can be. And you don’t have to do it alone. 💕 Your next season is waiting. ✨ Click the link in my bio to get started!
