Over the summer at the Democratic mayoral primary , I questioned each of the candidates on important LGBT issues, they were all supportive and thoughtful, but only one of the candidates at the time had I dedicated section on their website detailing where the campaign stood on lgbtq issues. I’m not looking for a robots or canned answers or candidates that are perfect in the eyes of corporate america, I’m looking for a candidate who is human and fallible but able to be held to account and most of all one that listens. @unclosetedmedia Zohran Mamdani is one of the most outspokenly pro-trans politicians in America. In February, he attended a rally for trans youth in where he told New Yorkers to “to stand up for these children” as attempts to ban gender-affirming care spread across the country. Growing up, I was told drag was just entertainment, but once I moved to NYC, I learned otherwise. 🏳️⚧️ 🌈 Drag is political. Always has been. At its core, it is oppositional and radical.
