2024… You taught me so much. You pushed me, shaped me, molded me, and CHANGED me. Showing up here hasn’t been easy this year. I let life overwhelm me, and before I knew it, I’d dug myself into a dark hole I didn’t have the energy to climb out of (until recently). What overwhelmed me? My own brain. Ruminating on everything. Every negative thing on earth—and even the positives I somehow turned into negatives. —The year I fell out of love with comedy only to fall back in love with it when I realized I don’t have to just be the “I Ain’t Doin It” lady. —This year made me take responsibility for the role I’ve played in my misery and negativity. —This year I had to set boundaries in friendships. —This year I struggled with my hair loss, peri-menopause, and all of the non-glamour things that come with it. —This year I continued deconstructing and reconstructing my faith (a really tough one that nobody likes to talk about). —This year I hit my rock bottom emotionally in a lot of ways. Finding myself in mid-life has been a crisis—and maybe it needed to be. Sometimes you have to sit in the dark to truly appreciate the light. And y’all, I do. I’m starting to feel excited again—about what? No idea! But who cares? Whatever’s coming is going to be good. Even when it’s not good, it still is. I’ve told myself that enough times to actually believe it (isn’t that the point?). It’s not lying to yourself to speak as if the goodness has already arrived. You’re not denying reality—you’re just choosing which reality to tune into. Like Joe Dispenza says, it’s like changing the radio station. These days, I’m choosing something a little more upbeat. Thank you for sticking with me. HAPPY NYE!!!!! 💖 @christytheconnector @photowalknashville

Merry ChristMESS! 🎄🎁🎅🏻
Almost a year ago, my longtime friend @heatherland_iaintdoinit, stood in front of everyone who was on our Jen Hatmaker & Friends Cruise and said OUT LOUD that she was ready to pursue a new dream. As a Life Coach. And you know what, SHE DID IT. I am just telling you, when we heard her tell us this, we were all immediately inspired. As you probably know, Heather is a famed comedian — she of the viral “I Ain’t Doin’ It” videos, too. But she knew she had to switch gears and reinvent. And, with that, she is giving all of us permission to consider: What Do We Want to Do Next? What Do We Want to Be at 50 Reinvention is allowed and it’s so possible. Heather’s latest project, the Dear Heathers podcast, encourages other women to embrace their journeys and feel empowered, And, I think this episode will give you the courage to look at whatever might be tugging at your heart and allow yourself to consider new possibilities, both small and grand. 🎧Comment FTL and I’ll send the episode to you!
