Something on my mind before I turn in. Based on reports from the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) in early March, over 200 U.S. service members across all branches of the military have reported that some commanders are framing the war with Iran as a biblically sanctioned “holy war”. This, as Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has held nine monthly Pentagon prayer services that have included religious leaders associated with Christian Nationalism.
Still thinking about the passing of the inimitable Diane Keaton. Molner and I watched “Father of the Bride” last night and I just loved looking at Diane’s beautiful, sweet, luminescent face. I’ve seen “Something’s Gotta Give” about 1200 times. Now I want to see every movie Diane has ever been in. Again. Thought you all might appreciate another part of my conversation from my CBS days. ❤️ (PS Take a moment to read @nmeyers beautiful tribute to her friend and shining ⭐️)
The final 20 living hostages have been released by Hamas into Israeli custody after being held in Gaza for over two years. Matan Zangauker, Eitan Mor, and Guy Gilboa-Dalal were welcomed home by their families in tearful reunions in Reim, Israel Monday. Back in Tel Aviv, Israel, families and friends of the hostages gathered in a square and cried out with joy and relief as news arrived that the captives were free. The hostages, all men, have arrived back in Israel, where they will reunite with family and undergo medical checks. The bodies of the remaining 28 dead hostages are also expected to be handed over as part of the deal, although the exact timing remained unclear. In return for the hostage exchange, Israel is set to release roughly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners later today. 📹: AP Newsroom

I loved interviewing two of the coolest girls I know, @laurabrown99 and @kristina_oneill for their book launch of “All the Cool Girls Get Fired” at the @92ndstreety It’s part memoir, part how-to-guide on navigating the ups and downs of losing a job – yes, there can be ups! They include inspiring stories from legendary women, like Lisa Kudrow, Tarana Burke, Carol Burnett, Oprah and more. There’s even a chapter from yours truly in there ☺️ Laura and Kristina both say this book is the guide they wish they had when they were let go from their editor in chief roles – Laura at InStyle and Kristina at the WSJ Magazine. As layoffs become the norm, I’d definitely encourage you all to pick up a copy! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ (This song is so random but seemed to fit the post! 😂) And thanks for the beautiful flowers ladies! Xoxoxo

In September, the Trump administration claimed taking Tylenol during pregnancy increased the risk of autism in children — despite the fact that no proven link exists. Medical professionals were quick to call out the bogus claim, but according to a new study released in The Lancet, damage was done. Dr. @jeremysamuelfaust and his colleague Dr. Michael Barnett analyzed how the announcement impacted pregnant women’s care. “President Trump and his team were able to change medical practice virtually overnight, based on misunderstandings of the science around this topic,” Dr. Faust tells us. In addition to Hamas freeing 20 hostages, Israel is set to release about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners to the West Bank and Gaza. The United Nations said in a statement that “real progress” was being made delivering aid to Gaza as part of the ceasefire agreement but also that the scale of the destruction is “staggering”. As many as 197,000 buildings have been damaged or destroyed during the war, according to estimates in a damage analysis shared with ABC News. The agency’s office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said, “The easing of restrictions on movement and access in multiple areas” had allowed them to deliver medical and emergency supplies. Additionally, cooking oil had entered the territory for the first time since March and tents, flour, frozen meat, and fresh fruit were making their way in as well. Are we headed for another crash? We all know the date: October 1929…but what really happened when the markets came tumbling down? I sat down with @sorkinsays to talk about his new book, “1929: Inside the Greatest Crash in Wall Street History–and How It Shattered a Nation,” which pulls back the curtain on one of the most dramatic moments in American history. Through the letters and diaries of the era’s biggest players, he reveals how the bankers, politicians, and investors thought they were saving the system… even as they helped it unravel. It’s a fascinating look at how good intentions can spiral into catastrophe, and what lessons we can still learn today. A single study can influence clinical care for years, especially when complex findings are communicated without context. On this episode of unPAUSED, I speak with Katie Couric (@katiecouric) about how interpretation, media amplification, and study design can shape public understanding of women’s health and hormone therapy. The population studied did not reflect many of the women later affected by the headlines. When results were generalized beyond the data, fear increased, research momentum slowed, and clinical conversations often became more limited than the evidence supported. This is an example of how translating science into public messaging requires nuance, accuracy, and careful evaluation of who was actually studied and what conclusions can reasonably be drawn. Understanding context helps patients and clinicians make more informed, individualized decisions about care.
