They told me things have changed and there IS a group of people who are interested in knowing about ‘behind the curtain’, so they send me pics and I comment. Many people bring this #goodfellas scene up to me. It’s where I beat the preppy who didn’t treat my girl with respect. There are times when you have to act a little nutty and you grab onto anything you can to get you to the place you need to be. Since I’ve talked about this before I’ll say it again. My mom was sick with cancer. My mind was drifting to what a great mom I have. I’m adopted so I hit the lottery with the mom and dad who adopted me. So I was thinking about her and all of a sudden I hear “action” and walked across the street and pummeled the guy. I was so wound up about the unfairness that my mom was sick, like I’m sure every individual who is dealing with someone they love being sick. I went so hard at the Juilliard trained actor that he could feel the wind of my punches … well pretend punches. Years later I was in the carpool lane waiting to pick up my precious little girl and who comes up to me, but the guy I “pummeled”.
Cheers to another year of laughter and good times! #goodfellas
Now THAT was a memorable Thanksgiving. Glad we didn’t bring the guy in the trunk. Not enough food.
A job that I would love to do again and again is voice in the Bee Movie with @jerryseinfeld as the Bee. I play an exaggerated version of myself. It’s something I’ve always wanted to try so I’m grateful to Jerry for giving me the opportunity and I will be just as grateful if given the opportunity to do it again. For those who think I only play bad guys, I also did TWO @THEMUPPETS MOVIES!
2017 HERE WE COME!!!
Pic of me and the Cool Chick on the last day and the last scene of season 2 @nbcshadesofblue. It’s going to be on Sundays at 10 on NBC starting March 5. #shadesofblue
To all of you who have worked your fingers to the bone…….. MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY HOLIDAYS! PEACE AND LOVE, Ray
Just finished season two of @nbcshadesofblue. Here I am with some of the knuckleheads I worked with. Not an actor in the bunch, and by that I mean they all are great people who happen to act for a living. I worked with all of them this season, some more then others. Having played nut jobs myself I’d like to say that #WarrenKole really does a great job playing STAHL. It’s hard to be nuts at 6 in the morning or in Warren’s case, last scene up. The scenes I have with him always got my blood boiling. He was so committed and his character hates mine so we had some real friction going. I loved it. All the others we’d have lines here and there, but I’m still upset that my favorite scene from last season with @vinnielaresca was cut. We had maybe 5 lines together, and Vinnie comes in and he’s got like 5 different things on his mind and you see them and feel them all. He was truly great. The others, maybe a line here and there but I have to say if you ever get a chance to be friends with @dreadematteo, run to it. I love her. They no doubt broke the mold after God created her. #ShadesofBlue is coming back Sunday, March 5th at 10pm.
When you make a movie you never know what’s going to happen with it. I don’t know if it’s my mistake or just my love of playing make believe, but I choose stories and characters that would be fun and challenging. That’s why I did “THE IDENTICAL” It is one of my favorite roles I’ve ever done. Playing a preacher over the span of 30 years. I think 7 people saw it, which is a shame just on a personal level. I loved the part and would rank it in my top 5. Where it fell apart is the producer was so proud of it he opened the movie in 1,300 theaters when it should’ve been a platform release. In any case that’s showbiz. It’s a great way to make a living, but the business can kiss my …… Tough tough business. Luckily I still have that fire in my belly to play make believe.
I loved making “Dominick and Eugene”. Tom Hulce is one of the best and most committed actors I’ve ever worked with. Robert Young directed it and he’s one of the top directors I’ve worked with, also a true gentleman. He’s made some great movies and D&E is right up there. Haven’t seen or heard about Tom Hulce in over 20 years. I hope he’s happy and healthy and doing things he loves to do. #tbt
One of the things I love about my job is watching the growth of the younger actors. This one’s just starting out. @sarahmjeffery is a perfect example. She knew what to do right from the beginning, but there’s more depth and commitment in every scene she does. That’s true for all of us who want to get better and better. The learning never stops as long as you still have the commitment at hand and not a cell phone. #shadesofblue

Oh my gosh this is great. I’m flattered you took the time to draw my likeness. I’ve never seen one that captured so much of me. This illustration is staying in my phone. Thanks @elidegad
They told me this is a shot from season 1 and the only things that come to mind are “Something feels right,” Barry, Jennifer, Stefan, Jack, bi-sexual cop … what can go wrong? That and man, my hair was short back then. #shadesofblue
Three more people who helped make @nbcshadesofblue as good as it is. Thank you. Much love, Ray. #shadesofblue
Woz is back! Get ready for #ShadesofBlue Season 2.
This is a clip for a music video I did with Ed Sheeran (@teddysphotos). Had a great time being part of this.
When actors starting out ask me for advice I tell them first and foremost to study. The imagination is like a muscle, the more you use it the stronger it gets. One never knows if a director works well with actors, so it’s imperative to become self reliant and that only happens from studying and homework. #robertduvall
Repost from @nbcshadesofblue – “Uniform becomes a symbol of tragedy.” – Woz #ShadesofBlue. – Catch up on season 1 during the holidays!
These are all the people that held me together, gave their support, love and are the best in the biz for what they do. I can’t thank you enough, so I won’t! No, thank each and everyone of you. I think we have a great second season coming. Each and everyone of them contributed immensely. Thank you all for taking care of me. As far as I’m concerned you’re the best in the business. Respect and love, Ray. #shadesofblue
I’m so proud of her. As any parent will testify, you want your children to be happy. Happy as a person with herself and happy with what they’ve picked for their professional life course. I can’t be more happy about her first modeling job for @chanelofficial in Paris. It’s hard as a single parent. My heart and hopes go out to those of us who do it on our own. I’m so proud of my girl. I love you Karsen.
@nbcshadesofblue returns Sunday, March 5 at 10PM on @nbc. #shadesofblue
Movie tricks! Myself and my stunt double getting instructions from our great stunt coordinator, Jerry. I’m happy to say I did it myself as well as standing in front of a bus that was barreling down the street. Talk about having faith. I trusted Jerry and I trusted the stunt bus driver, but it was the brakes that put chills up and down my spine. I did it and it’s going to look very intense on screen. So when you’re watching @nbcshadesofblue next year know that it was ME!
The actors, in this case me and @dovdavidoff, are reading the words to @wolfe1245 writer/producer of this episode. Dov is as good an actor as he is a comedian. One of a few people on the show I can call a friend. He took me to a bunch of his comedy shows and he’s so funny. Wolfe is a great writer and knows how to put feelings into writing. Another reason why I like him is he and his dad, who he loves more then words could say, watch a movie I’ve never seen but they watch it together every year, “Field of Dreams,” which at its core is a movie about a father and son and to make sure fathers father their sons. There is nothing more important, dads being dads and all the responsibilities that comes with it, but just as important as having fun with your son. #ShadesofBlue
