I’ve been working so small for so long it feels weird but kinda nice when I draw bigger~ I tried editing this so it was more real time with bigger cuts in between rather than a full really fast timelapse this time, hope you guys like it~!

Traditionally, Chinese New Years can last up to 15 days. I miss the fire works and crackers my family would light up when I lived in Shanghai. There used to be this whizzing one that would just twirl right up to the sky while spitting out colourful lights~~ it was so pretty 😍~

It’s always weirdly censoring when I get comments on my art-frustration posts about how I should just shut up and be happy about my art level and the “amount of followers I have”ಥ_ಥ。i guess the problem is, I never cared too much about the follower count (not that I’m not thankful that you guys do follow me 😆), and there are sooooo many better artists than me out there and I keep feeling like I’m not improving fast enough and I’m just not producing enough art stuff, period. I know, logically, that everyone moves at their own pace. Logically, being frustrated only hinders progression. I know this in my head, but…well, it’s hard to control my feelings xD;;;;. I need to learn to just appreciate pleasure of putting pen to paper again….I’ll get that feeling back, I swear to god lol (￣^￣)ゞ
My friend has suggested I should maybe go talk to a therapist if I’m feeling anxiety but I don’t know if that anxiety is bad enough to warrant a visit haha @-@;;.
Ugh, before that though I should really go see a physiotherapist…my back is killing me…

Painting on a doily. The paper isn’t made to be painted on so it sucked up pigment like no tomorrow and would spread the water like wildfire if I wasn’t careful. I felt horrible while I struggled through the first half of it. I somehow managed to wrangle it into something decent 😵~
Compromised my immune system for this lol, but I’m getting over my cold now so yay!

#throwbackthursday on an oldie I touched up. I’ve always loved the original Little Mermaid, which ended quite bitter sweet 😢. Sorta grew up with the original. Never even knew there was a Disney version until I was way older 😆

Some fluorescent paint really shines nicely~~ the finished small doily painting ⭐️
The process was so hard but after layering the paint over and over again it started listening, especially after adding the white. I’m pretty happy haha~ I’m not sure if I could prep it properly though since the doily is so thin….😵.
Not sure if I’ll try this again haha, it’s so time consumingly hard of a material 😵

I didn’t draw enough this year i think….I mean, yes, my health sucks, but it sucked last year too >.>;;;;~ Too many head shots….but I’m finally getting more satisfied with the way I draw faces….well, there are still a way to go but still, I’ve spent years working on anatomy and drawing the body but not so much the face. Hope I can find the energy to do better next year~!
