Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru

Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru (D16) which marked the debut of the very young filmmaker Karthick Naren has been receiving nothing but positive response from all sides ever since the movie released. The ingenious murder mystery which had Rahman playing the lead has etched its success in the box office of Tamil Nadu.

After the success of the Tamil version, the makers dubbed the movie in Telugu as D16 which garnered great response too. The thriller also made its mark on Kerala soil. The delay in the release of the movie in Kerala didn’t affect the box office performance in any manner. Malayalam star Nivin Pauly had shown interest in the movie and the team had arranged a special screening for the actor. The actor was in awe of the movie and praised the team for their work. The movie even had a successful run of 75 days in theaters which is indeed a rare phenomenon for small budget movies, thanks to the improvement in technology.

D16

After rocking the south Indian movie industry D 16 has also managed to impress makers from the Bollywood. Karthick Naren confirmed recently that the Bollywood remake rights of the movie have been sold for a good price. It also seems that an A list actor has shown interest in starring in the remake of the movie. 22-year-old talented Karthick has seen to it that the name of the actor is not revealed. It is also said that the A list actor who had shown interest in the remake also wants Karthick Naren himself to handle don the director’s hat in Bollywood as well.

Karthick however assured that the Bollywood remake would not be his next immediate project since he is already into the works of Naragasooran. If the sources close to the director are to be believed the Thani Oruvan actor Arvind Swamy has agreed to play the lead in Naragasooran which probably might be funded by Gautham Menon under his Ondraga Entertainment banner.
