When I first came across the story of Mariam Shaar (far right), I knew I wanted to help tell her story. That’s why I’m so proud to have served as executive producer on the new documentary, Soufra. Mariam has lived her whole life in the Burj el-Barajneh refugee camp in Lebanon. The film tells her journey of empowerment as she develops a thriving business that employs the incredible women of the camp to create the first refugee food truck. It’s a powerful story, and I want to share it with you!
