1. HERCULES || And just when you thought I’d forgotten about this challenge! Haha. #sixfanarts .. . Uh, so let me talk a lot longer here than is in anyway necessary. I’ve been feeling really artistically stripped for about a year now, especially when it comes to personal art. It’s a big reason you haven’t gotten anything from me in so long. This challenge came at the right time, because fanart is a gift that lets you piggyback your creativity on that of others and play with your artistic voice. I had to find mine again. Still in the process of doing it. I actually redid these 6 characters about four times because I just kept wanting something more or different or other. And that’s pretty extra, but every time I dug in, my brain opened more, and I guess what I’m saying is: I’m grateful. So, I already have all of these done. I’ll be posting them over the next week-ish. And I’m hoping to do another round (I’ve already picked the characters).. . Thank you guys for all your suggestions. And if you’re interested, based on what I received, you guys really like: BTS, Jill Valentine, characters from Mulan, and the Raven Cycle books (I effing love those books, so good for you guys, lol). From time to time I find myself drawing these massive kings and these weakling princes, and I always think of that Big Tragedy with a T. So maybe more to come, finally. Who knows. TANGLED || ep 203, The Return of Quaid: So here’s the side of character design you don’t normally see – the team effort. When I came on the show, @bobbypontillas had done the amazing full-body prelim of Quaid you see on the left, but as the episode developed, the late great Reg E. Cathey was picked to voice him. The design’s race needed to change accordingly. . . That’s where I tagged in. The team loved Bobby’s design and the space his Quaid had taken up, so I had to keep those things in mind while creating the updated version. Sometimes character design is head-design. 🙂 . .
