Regina Hall Instagram – My #WCW today highlights #Minneapolis based food justice advocate LaDonna Redmond. @LaDonnaRedmond began her career in advocacy after facing limited access to nutritious, organic food in her native Chicago community. LAdonna has successfully worked to get the Chicago Public Schools (@chipubschools) to change policies on #JunkFood, launched urban agriculture projects, started a community grocery store, and worked on federal farm policy to expand access to healthy food in low-income communities. LaDonna continues to challenge food producers and consumers to examine the inequalities in the #FoodSystem and seek solutions that don’t negatively impact on the rights of #ImmigrantLaborers or people of color living in low-income communities. “What is needed is a new and vibrant food system, one that has at its core #equity and #justice. It will take all of us to create a vibrant, strong, economically viable environmentally sound and socially just food system.”
