Dr. Wright is the founder and executive director of the Deep South Center for Environmental Justice (@dscej), an organization committed to improving the lives of children and families harmed by #pollution and vulnerable to the #climate crisis along the Louisiana Mississippi River Chemical Corridor and the #GulfCoast Region. Dr. Wright has conducted groundbreaking research in devalued, climate-affected communities in the Gulf Coast and around the U.S. for more than three decades. Although #policymakers are slow to act, she says the urgency of climate change will soon become undeniable, even for the nation’s most privileged. “The thing about climate change is, in the end it affects all of us. People don’t care about it when it does not affect them, but there’s no running from climate change.”
