Regina Hall Instagram – This week I’m dedicating my #WCW to social entrepreneur and environmental activist, Angelou Ezeilo. @AngelouEzeilo is the founder and CEO of the Greening Youth Foundation (@greeningyouth), a #NonProfit that aims to change the face of conservation in the United States, by engaging #underrepresented youth and young adults while connecting them to the outdoors and careers in conservation. Her love for the environment dates back to her childhood when she had the chance to escape the dense urban streets of Jersey City, #NewJersey and spend summers in upstate #NewYork with her family. Angelou is also an author! Her new book, “Engage, Connect, Protect – Empowering Diverse Youth as Environmental Leaders” highlights the need to recognize the work of environmental champions in #CommunitiesOfColor. The book features eye-opening critique of the cultural divide in #environmentalism, and is a resource guide for ways businesses, educators, and policymakers can engage with diverse youth as the next generation of environmental leaders through culturally relevant learning and career opportunities. “I am determined to continue to introduce more youth of color to environmental careers because our planet and our society needs them.”
