Lisa Ray Instagram – One of the most humbling and empowering lesson I learned from my Cancer journey was the power of community. It had previously been difficult for me to ask for help but dealing with a serious illness broke my wall of reserve. Look at it this way: if you don’t ask for help, how will you find it? if you aren’t open to receiving, how will you grow and harness the power of support?
Cut to motherhood. It’s tough. It’s really, really tough on certain days. But I have no problem leaning on community and saying: I’m really not sure what I’m doing. I lead from heart, I allow my girls a lot of room to express and freestyle play but obviously there are times I need to lay down the law and rules of engagement. And if you have a toddler – or two- you will probably snort in recognition of how deviously defiant our angels can be.
Cue @sparkwonder_ The wonderful Mona is a god send right now as she offers online consultations to address all and any parenting techniques or issues which might crop up. We were dealing with anarchic bedtime rituals (or rather lack of structure and rituals) and Mona swooped in (her cape wasn’t showing but I swear she wears one) to offer simple principles that have already transformed our night time experience. Mona thank you for dropping into our lives. Every mama needs a calm, empathetic eye like yours and I would sincerely encourage anyone who feels adrift, overwhelmed or simply needs a bit of extra support and guidance to book an online session. This is not a commercial endorsement just a share from one deliriously happy and relieved mama who is winging it, and not afraid to send out an S.O.S. every now and then. | Posted on 11/Sep/2020 11:28:01
