Arjun Kamath Instagram – When Shanvi and I decided to come together to make artful pictures, my heart was elated, and my mind brimmed with possibilities. I envisioned this particular look to have a universal appeal. Instinctively, I wanted the pictures to bring out their own lovely flavours, transcending any preformed rules and notions. To translate this vision into something tangible, I had to find a perfect balance between the location and the flavours that the edgy outfit would exude. So, for Shanvi’s get-up, we decided to take a brief detour from ethnic flavours and explore a more ubiquitous theme. And to find the perfect spot, I began scouting city outskirts a few days before the shoot. Considering that we worked on these pictures a few months back when we had little access to the outside world, the challenge of finding a suitable location was real. When I finally came across this wonderful quilt woven by nature with a charming mix of golden and green, my eyes instantly lit up. Within the same moment, I had already imagined the colours and elements that would grace the frame, along with the attire and mood that would unfurl. So, when I was finally clicking a radiant Shanvi with the perfect look in her eyes, a quote by Thoreau chimed in my head—“The world is but a canvas to imagination”. And I couldn’t help but give away a soft, unhurried smile.
