Going back to my roots & that means revisiting my first teacher of the craft @anthonyabeson. I’ve always felt so lucky to have learned from someone who instilled in me such respect for this beautiful craft. If you get the chance, go study with him. If you don’t, read his book. Ground yourself, remember what you do, why you do it and love the work.
We’ve all been trained to be results oriented but what about the process? The focus on the road, the journey? Our society doesn’t teach us that. It teaches us to measure ourselves with finality. (Link in bio) Imagine being on vacation, noticing the barely used soap in your hotel keeps getting thrown out, seeing local crowds who are lacking basic hygiene and then going on a mission to recycle said hotel soaps for people in these communities, all while creating a structure of employment for women. 💜 That’s what @cnnheros Samir Lakhani did. 💜 His organization @ecosoapbank has now expanded its reach and has been providing much needed hygiene to the poorest populations of the world, during this pandemic.
