I did the math and got the vax. #astrazeneca . The chance of me dying from this shot is less than being eaten by a shark and I body-surf ALOT . but the chances of me dying from the virus – exposing others to it / taxing the health system or shutting down a show that is employing over 200 people is higher . Do your own risk analysis and do the math to see if @astrazeneca is better for your circumstances than no vax . ( this advice is for Australians only due to shortages of other vaccines )
Sharing anything with this girl #debmailman is a joy – sharing the cover of #The Australian Women’s Weekly November issue to celebrate TOTAL CONTROL Season 2 is brilliant !!!Photographer: Alana Landsberry. Styling Mattie Cronan and thank you @JulietRieden @womensweeklymag. Thank you for celebrating fifty somthing women loving who they are.
Rhonda and Muriel had more of a chance of dying by a coconut during the Fernando scene from #murielswedding than dying of the covid vaccination . Get your vax so you can live a life that’s as good as an @abba song . Do your math. Get the vax.
Bless all the single mothers who managed alone . Thank you mama for your strength creativity and endurance . I’m don’t know how you did it . @annagriffithsartist
Thanks @flemingtonvrc @kateradfordmua for a Gorgous day at the track . So wonderful to see old firends for the first time and all the staff at Flemington
Hey Melbourne I know we are hurting. – frustrated and angry . I live in ground zero of this outbreak and have friends forced into iso due to the ‘engagment’ party secondary site exposures and only missed the supermarket exposure Because I’ve been in Iso . No community is responsible for the law breaking choices of a tiny fraction of its memebers. Asian / Muslim / Jewish / Coptic / Catholic .. this is Melbourne . We are better than this . Our multiculturalism makes us strong diverse and inclusive and wonderful .It’s so easy to find a scapegoat for things that are difficult to bare but we mustn’t fall prey to the age old scourge of racism and anti-semitism to be our panacea . #be strong melbourne . We will get through this .
I know there is a lot of heavy stuff going on in the world but this is really a stain on our nation . If you belive we have a moral obligation to those who have been assisting our australian servicemen and women in this war – despite whether you believed in the mission or not please write to your MP’s. Our troops and consulates will never be trusted again if we abandon our translators and other afghan support staff . What we do now will reveal the character of our nation .
Delicate 80’s- tastic portrait of Diana – 1981 by Bryan Organ @nationalportraitgallery London .

2021 Geelong contemporary art prize @geelonggallery proud of @andytaylorpainter’s “outside:yesterday noon” 2020. “I love the thought that painting is about all these moments when the hand gets to play with the surface – there are thoughts , there are memories, and there is what you really see or saw, most of all there is the deep cut of our present. It started with a window view from a renter house long ago ” – andytaylor.
Vale – Michael K Williams – Truly one of the most beautiful humans I have met. A supurb artist who could channel the pain and the joy of angels and offer safe harbour to his fellow travellers who he made his brothers and sisters even for the shortest time. You are in peace now .

What do do after @naidocweek ? I’m beginning a year long course run through The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies in Canberra . @aiatsis_ . A belated journey of education that my 1970’s- 1980’s education lacked . @aiatsis_ core cultural learning syllabus is rich and deep – indigenous designed and run for organisations to grow cultural competency and for non First Nations people to begin to understand historical and contemporary indigenous experience. Thank you @aiatsis_ for this opportunity to grow listen and learn.
Vale Joan Washington- my first ever dialect coach . She taught me welsh northern Irish Yorkshire and Lancashire accents over many movies . Without her I doubt I would have had an international career. She was formidable warm and inspiring giving all who worked her her a skill set and confidence to inhabit the roles we played and a deep love of the English language and its vAriations. Condolences to @richard.e.grant and her family and friends for whom her loss will leave a profound sorrow.
Paintings from the pandemic @andytaylorpainter @olsen_gallery . Proud of my husband for making such beautiful work while running the ship through 6 lockdowns as I’ve been away this last year. Available on line in this virtual show from next week –
Jospeh the carpenter – Georges de la Tour – 1646 . To all the fathers trying to do better than their fathers – bless you. For all those who’s fathers fell short in profound ways – today is a difficult today as we try to make sense of their legacy. For those who have lost fathers today we grieve. Father’s Day is not a happy day for all but today we all share the belief that ‘good fathers’ leave a lasting legacy that even death does not extenguish and who’s unconditional love and strength lasts generations.

Just ordered my copy of this fantastic new children’s book about Albert Namajira . Buy a copy from @magabalabooks and donate it to your local school library. Award-winning artist Vincent Namatjira tells the life story of his great-grandfather, Albert Namatjira, one of Australia’s most iconic artists. “Vincent’s witty and moving paintings are accompanied by evocative text, which records the pivotal moments in Albert’s life. In telling his great-grandfather’s story, Vincent builds a compelling picture of the times and conditions in which Albert lived and worked, capturing his triumphs and tragedy against a backdrop of social change and historical injustices. This poignant children’s book provides an important tool for discussion about Australia’s art history, and a launching pad for exploration of the key moments in Australia’s Aboriginal Rights movement”. Magabala.com are the publishers and you can purchases feom them or order though your local book store .
It’s naidoc week. A great opportunity to read the powerful Uluru statement from the heart and listen to First Nations experiences culture and knowledge in the voices that will have the national stage this week. It’s time to de- colonise our minds from the deep legacy of terra nullius and see aboriginal culture and history as our Australian culture and history .
