Part memoir, part journalistic investigation this book is an exploration of what wellness is in a world where we are denied truth, access, care and accountability to each other and thus the Earth. How can we be well in an unwell society? This is something I’ve been asking myself since I was a child.

There are many fallacies we are living through and that disconnection is also represented in our (dis)connection to ourselves and each other. Writing the book made me understand on a cellular level how the cruelty of our times is a reflection of the beating legacy of trauma left in the wake of colonization, capitalism and white supremacy. The more we deny truth (collective or individual) the further we run from ourselves.

I’m excited for you to see the research, dedication and thoughtfulness I brought to this book. It was very fulfilling to journey into the world of Vedic scripture, Muslim Astrology and the significance of tattooing as an act of ritual to the divine.
