I met Andre Leon Talley early on in my career as a young model. I can’t say we were ever very close but he was always polite and positive energy to be around. There were so many big personalities in the industry in those days. He was certainly one of the biggest. You couldn’t not notice him enter a room. The booming voice. The gesticulating hands. The wardrobe alone. Every outfit was a statement. Each choice carefully constructed. I took this Polaroid in 1990 at a dinner party at Karl Lagerfeld’s house in Paris. It was as intimate as an evening could be and everyone let their guards down to just relax and be silly together in the midst of Paris Fashion Week. Those were the best nights because they were pretty rare. And this is how I will remember you, Andre. | Posted on 20/Jan/2022 01:05:45
