Our #OscarsKidsPJParty is of course inspired by the magical Oscar Keogh. After his diagnosis, Oscar found himself facing incredibly tough days in his PJs. They became his comforting and colorful uniform, much like so many children with pediatric cancer whose PJs become their superhero costume while encountering the most unimaginable circumstances with extraordinary strength and bravery. I didn’t think I could love my subscription to KiwiCo’s crates more, but their support of our charity took my love for them to the next level! When we get a KiwiCo delivery the whole house is excited since it will be hours of learning (disguised as SO MUCH FUN) guaranteed. I truly feel #KiwiCo holds the key to unlocking a love for learning, uncovering new STEAM topics for kids of all ages to discover each month, while also helping to build their problem solving skills and creative confidence. Fun fact: I have been a fan of @kalpenn since I was a kid! We grew up in the same town and I saw him kill it as Linus in his Jr. High school production of “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown.” I’ve loved him in everything since and was overjoyed to get to work with him on TBBT. As if you couldn’t tell by my face, I am so excited for this book because as with everything @kalpenn does, I know it will be wonderful! #YouCantBeSerious
#FBF Right before the school photographer snapped this pic he said, “Your bow is crooked.” I didn’t register what he meant and thought it was another way of saying: “Say cheese!” The look on my face is me trying to figure out how to respond. (Do I repeat back, “Your bow is crooked?!” Or do I say “MY bow is crooked?! Why can’t I just say “cheese?!”) He took a half a second more to try to explain it to me, but got fed up with my confusion and took the picture. As I was walking away he said, “Tell your mommy I tried to fix it.” I was panicked and further confused. He knew my mommy!? It wasn’t until we got the pictures back and saw the crooked bow that I understood what he had said. I was so upset with myself that I came home crying, devastated that I didn’t fix my bow before the picture. My mother told me that she loved it. “The crooked bow made it special,” she said. “You will look back on this picture one day and love it too.” She was right. May all your bows be crooked. 🎀

So thrilled to announce something so very exciting…the official oral history of The Big Bang Theory is coming your way! “The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series” is available for pre-order (link in bio) and is coming out October 11, 2022! It was written by Glamour West Coast Editor and all around absolutely wonderful person @jessicaradloff14 – who poured her heart & soul into this book after doing hundreds of hours of exclusive interviews with the cast, producers and so many people who made BBT what it was. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed talking about my life-altering time on Big Bang with Jessica. I always knew how special being on TBBT was, but getting to relive it through this discussion of my memories crystalized that even more. And boy, did it make me miss seeing my TBBT family on a daily basis. There are many stories in this book that I didn’t even know about ~ and as a fan of the show before joining the show, I cannot wait to read it myself! #thebigbangtheorybook

I 💛 Penn and Teller! Our charity #OscarsKids was founded in honor of Oscar Keogh…and a word that is synonymous with Oscar is “magic.” So in planning the #OscarsKidsPJParty virtual event for @themomsnetwork it seemed only fitting that we have a magic show! What I didn’t factor in is that we would get the greatest magic team of all time, @pennandtellerlive to perform! I have been such a fan of theirs for as long as I can remember. Seeing their show in Vegas was one of the best live performances I have ever witnessed. I had the pleasure of working with Teller on The Big Bang Theory and although he is supposed to be the one without words, I was so starstruck upon meeting him I could barely get a sentence out. Cut to planning for our #oscarskidspjparty – I reached out to him to see if he and Penn would be up for doing a virtual performance for @oscarskidsamerica and in the blink of an eye, Penn and Teller said they were in. They then went on to deliver a phenomenal virtual show that had us in absolute awe. The generosity of Penn and Teller both donating their time to ensure our #OscarsKidsPJParty was a success just adds to their living legend status in my book. Not only are they the most brilliant, gifted, hilarious magicians and performers…they are two of the kindest, most generous humans and we are beyond thankful to them. Thank you Penn and Teller for bringing your magic to #OscarsKids! 💛

Her knowledge and compassion as a cancer survivor and advocate made her the perfect person to host this event and connect us to a fantastic group of moms to help spread the word about the work our pediatric cancer charity, #OscarsKids is doing.
