60 years ago this month, April 5th, 1962, @thebeatles played a special show at the Cavern “for their fans” presented by the Beatles Fan Club. As a nod to the long running Liverpool fans the band came onstage first in their black leather outfits, and after a break they changed to their new Beno Dorn suits and ties. This was a “going-away” performance before their next Hamburg trip, a seven-week booking at the new Star-Club.

We were very sad to hear of Gary Brooker’s passing. Our thoughts are with his family. Gary was a brilliant musician, collaborator, gardener, friend. He will be missed but always remembered.❤
Remembering Leon Russell on his 80th Birthday. George worked with Leon many times over the years, but most famously at the Concert For Bangladesh in 1971. They first met in 1970 when George played guitar on the songs “Dixie Lullaby”, “Shoot Out on the Plantation” and “Hurtsome Body” on Leon’s self-titled debut solo album. Having performed “Beware of Darkness” at the concert for Bangladesh with George, Leon would also record the song himself on his 1971 album “Leon Russell and the Shelter People.” In later years Leon and George would work together again on songs like ‘Tired of Midnight Blue’ from 1975’s “Extra Texture (Read All About It…).”
Happy Birthday, Ravi 🕉
Celebrating Jim Keltner on his 80th Birthday. Happy Birthday, Jim!
Jim played drums on many of George’s solo albums, as well as playing on both Traveling Wilburys records under the nickname “Buster Sidebury”.
“For the last couple of years, I have been working on something special to me. More to tell you very soon.” – Olivia Harrison ❤
