Rain Dove Dubilewski Instagram – Which are YOU? Drag Queen? Drag King? Drag Thing? I took a long time to try Drag- this was my first! This video was inspired by the musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie- which has been adapted by Prime Video into a film! As a person who just identifies as I- I know I am all and nothing. For a while, I thought You could only dress in drag that was the opposite of Your gender identity. Turns out Drag is about being an extension of an identity. Any identity. Most of my life is spent in a form of drag. Everyone everywhere sees me differently. Some see me as male. Female. Alien. Invisible. Existential. I’m in a constant form of performance unintentionally. So I thought drag would be exhausting. Maybe even a bit traumatizing. But it turns out that it opened a door to a feeling of fun, freedom and therapy I never knew was possible. So here is- the first of many drag videos to come. For anyone interested in checking out the film- it’s a queer coming of age story about a 16 year old who dreams of becoming a Drag queen for his future career. It has an interesting community, a supportive parent, and tackles some important dialogue. It inspired me to give creativity a try- and maybe it can inspire you too!
