This image by the way was taken for a @ukgap series featuring different voices. They invested into a really diverse array of community members and let people say what they wanted unfiltered. The crew was also reflective of our community. I really appreciate that. The reason I decided to hop on this shoot was as an homage to my roots. Gap was a working class brand in the USA. It’s what we wore because it was affordable and durable. While I was on the streets I had a Gap hoodie that lasted a full two years of hardcore outside conditions. It later became a comfort item when I got more stable. I’ve at times been teased for my Gap hoodie- but I don’t care. It’s survival represents my survival as a transient queer person. And Im not ashamed of that.
Thanks for letting me tell my story @femalenarratives and @ukgap . Thank You for putting funds into our community all year round even outside of Pride. As with all Pride collaborations- funds from this post will be going to house transient LGBTQ individuals. If You need housing and are on the street DM me to register on the funding list. I am working hard to put revenue generated off this platform into housing our community. Don’t be afraid to ask.
