🎶 What if I turned all the offers down and cleared the slate/ what if I finally accepted my mistakes? 🎵 New hair and new shoot by the incredible @iakovosphoto for his upcoming book 🤍 I always love shooting with Iakovos (I say always…we’ve only shot twice and it makes me sad! 🥲) as he is so warm, creative, affirming and absolutely precise in realising his vision. Gonna be a special book. Styling by @emmajaynelipop Hair by @kojimahiroki Makeup by @natsumi_narita Haircut by my girl @rhbyrne 😍 we roughed it right up for this shoot though, sorry Ruby!! I’ll take a tidier picture of it soon!
Are you even a Leo if you don’t overdress for a walk in the park?! ♌️ Been wearing too much black lately and staying indoors trying to get evvvverything done at once so I figured I’d glam up and admire the world this afternoon!!! There is more to life than reaching the end of your to-do list… ✨🌳🌳🌞 Thank you @unreal_fur for the most fabulous faux fur jacket I’ve ever owned! Christmas 2021 with la famille!🎄♥️ 🐈 Lots of beach walks, Covid tests, vegan cheese, Sylvanian families and dodging conversations with neighbours about the memoir 🚣 All of the food here (except for my mum’s cherry cake) was courtesy of the wonderful @thevegankind who you should absolutely check out if you live in the U.K. and are doing @weareveganuary next week. They are the online vegan shop of dreams!! 🤤 Pay particular attention to the cheeses, children – I’ve tagged all the individual brands. My mum’s review: “I could eat this stuff til it was coming out my ears”. 🧀 Hope you all are having a lovely holiday ✨

Happy to share I’ll be on #BetweenTheCovers at 7.30pm TONIGHT with @djsaracox on @BBCTwo talking about books with @emiliarosefox @mrandyparsons and my new BFF @danesnaptiste 📚 If you don’t know Between The Covers, it’s basically a televised book club 🤓 We all spoke about our favourite books (mine is ‘Loving Sabotage’ by Amélie Nothomb 🎩♥️) and we had homework to read 2 books, Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason and Good Behaviour by Molly Keane. It was so much fun!!! I wish someone would force me to read 2x books a week more often 🥲 Tune in tonight at 7.30pm on BBC2. And swipe across for me discussing this other book that I wrote, I can’t remember if I ever mentioned that to you guys? That I have a book out? 🤔 Maybe once or twice? Yeah anyway, here’s a clip. #BetweenTheCovers #bookclub #bookstagram #books #bbc2 #theoppositeofbutterflyhunting

This is the whole point of Sundays, right? Happy weekend, friends 🌞🌻😽
Is it a cloud? Is it a cat? Hard to tell these days ☁️ Any other people who live with animals notice that when you’re running around doing lots of things at once your companion animal starts to physically reflect your inner chaos?! I looked at Puff’s straggly coat today and thought ‘oh ok we both better spend a day on the couch replenishing ourselves’ 😌🐱 Thank you dear Puff for always rooting me back in the present moment 🪴
Happy weekend, friends!! ☀️ I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be interviewing @thisisbwright about her new book #GOGENTLY on 10th May at 7pm at a live event with @how.to.academy in London! In person and livestream tickets are available and you can use the code GENTLY20 to get 20% off. Over the past few years I’ve been very inspired by Bonnie’s lifestyle, and her passion and commitment to sustainability, and to making sustainable practices accessible for everyone. I’ve seen her in many different settings gently but consistently advocate for zero-waste facilities, and each time it jolted me into realising how wasteful and careless of the planet my normal everyday habits become, unless I consciously choose otherwise. I’m still a newbie when it comes to sustainability practices and often feel that same sense of ‘Agghhhhh this is too much change!!!’ that I did when I started my vegan journey…but I think as with any lifestyle shift, the journey is not finite and it’s about continuous learning and growth. Anyway, the point I’m making is I have LOTS of questions for Bonnie!! And I cannot wait to ask them and be part of this conversation on May 10th! It’s going to be a great evening so please do join us! I’ll put the ticket link on my stories. 🌱 #gogently #sustainability #newbook

“Password?” 😾 Puff has taking to stationing herself here atop the stairs and glaring down at anyone who dares enter. It’s the kind of stare that makes you instantly self reflect and recall all the morally questionable things you’ve done in life. I like to think that if a burglar were to cross the threshold, while Puff would likely just sit there, these fearsome yellow eyes would prompt some deep soul searching and cause them to retreat. (And yes, still painting walls in my house, most of them green.)
@headlinebooks are giving a free copy of #TheOppositeofButterflyHunting over on their page as part of their Advent season giveaway! Tbqh it’s absolutely not a Christmassy book so it’s a good idea to enter the giveaway and read it now and then do all your processing and emotional healing over the holidays 😅 Head over to @headlinebooks for details on how to enter… 🦋 Also, for today only @amazonkindle has selected my book as their Kindle Daily Deal so it’s available on kindle for 99p! (I think it’s actually 84p currently, but only until midnight). Link in my stories! And thank you again to all the people who have read/ and are reading or listening to it. I’ve not felt the urge to be very chatty online lately and I think it’s because this book has felt like concluding a very big chapter in my life. It’s odd because it’s simultaneously started my new writing chapter but mostly what I feel in the aftermath of publication is liberation. Like a deep sigh after holding my breath for too long. That story is written and I can let it go. It’s been easier to be myself lately, to surrender and accept the present and not try so hard around people. That’s been the best thing to have come from this book so thanks for taking in the story and meeting me on the other side of this chapter 🙏🏻♥️🦋 #TheOppositeofButterflyHunting #newbook #kindofnewbook? #memoir #writersofig #nonfiction #recovery #evannalynch

Just a moment of beauty for the feed 🥰 I painted my bedroom this colour yesterday ♥️ Have gone on a bit of a painting rampage lately…I think after a decade of renting very very white apartments I just want to put colour everywhereeeee 🌹🍄💋 next week I’m painting my office YELLOW! 💛😼
🥪 S A N D W I C H M A N 🥪 Awww so cute to see the poster for our short film, ‘Sandwich Man’ directed by the icon that is @jhenwick 😍 SANDWICH MAN is a romantic comedy about a writer/director going through writer’s block and slowly losing the plot, when she decides to revisit/exploit an old flame to help her come up with the end of her love story… ✍️ I was honoured to play the lead in this and loved every moment of working with this über creative team!! 🎥 Produced by @louisepalmkvist This film was shot on a @xiaomi.uk phone!! Trailer coming soon, follow @thephonetrilogy for updates… 👀 #SandwichMan #thephonetrilogy
Ooooh la la my book has a shiny new cover and comes out in paperback on June 23rd! Link in my bio 🙂 Art by @lucyrosec and design by @siobhanbookdesign Thank you to these absolutely wonderful generous women who contributed quotes for the cover @lulunealon @fearnecotton @thedaisybee & @thisisbwright – I owe ye!! 🙏🏻💗 I thought I’d share some post-book reflections since I haven’t been sharing much online this year which is a stark contrast to the book in which I shared, um, EVERYTHING 🤪 it has really taken me aback how much I’ve wanted to retreat and be quiet since publishing the book. I thought I’d be all career career career, next next next. Instead all I’ve wanted to do is BE with animals and nature and other people’s books!! Takes a very spicy invitation to get me to leave my house lately. I think this shift has a lot to do with the peace writing my story down gave me. Much of the book was written from the perspective of little me who was SO angry about the past. I mean she was running the whole show at times and the book was her space to speak her truth, to rail about past grievances and to make some sense out of a messy time in life. There is just something about putting words to a situation that helps you accept it. Publishing the book was a huge relief. Let go of so much anger. Started a new chapter. And my younger self is a peaceful energy now, and I know feels taken care of by this book. I feel really liberated creatively and excited to write something new, which I will do, soon. I also wanted to pass on some words of wisdom from Natasha who you might remember from the book, about the role of art. Every now and then I panic that I overshared in the book, that it was a bit too raw & nasty. I expressed this anxiety to Natasha and suggested in future maybe I ought to tone my worst thoughts down, clean it up a bit. Her response was great! “With all due respect, bollocks to that”, she said, “there is no point writing anything down if it doesn’t create ripples, no movie worth making if it doesn’t disturb someone somewhere”. As an artist, I fully subscribe to that! I would like to be shaken and woken up by books. So, here’s to holding nothing back.
