Riley Elliott Instagram – The incredible clip of the moment @jimipartingtonsdx experienced the full potential of an adult Great White shark but walked away unharmed. This clip comes from one of the best @sharkweek shows I have ever seen, Great White Open Ocean, created by @jeff_kurr also featuring @animalbrandon and @dickie_chivell with filming by @liquid_action_films It’s such an amazing story for me because it showcases someone with true talent and passion for working with animals. @jimipartingtonsdx brings the nature kid out in all of us when watching this, the lust to understand wild animals and even the largest and most dangerous of them. And even after such a potentially life threatening encounter, he had the knowledge and experience to look down, spot the shark and swim for the boat but then the most important part, tell us that he chose to put himself there, in a plastic box, where the shark continually started testing him and it, and how the shark recognised when he wasn’t looking and came in full tilt to test, likely what the cage was and why Jimi was in it. There’s no blame on the shark from Jimi nor anyone, rather the only blame is the pure intrigue to learn more about animals and how far one can go to do that. If you haven’t seen this show it is amazing. So well shot and edited, incredible music that emotionally connects you to what it is that draws us to swim with sharks, and it’s a tale of passion, determination and a guy who will be back working with sharks because that’s who he is.
