Into the ether, I watched the moon through it’s many phases.
I swear I met the reaper, at least one of his many faces.
He showed me new meter, lead me through many times and spaces.
He named me seeker, climbing back into gods good graces.
After barren peaks, he pointed down the ravine.
Through bogged swamps I creeped, yet he proclaimed me clean.
In dark matter I found sleep, ‘cross my eyes he shone a beam.
When I succumbed beneath, he slipped us soundlessly through the seams.
I awoke in dew, seen I’d escaped from perdition.
Beneath budding yew, he’d laid me post expedition.
On his adieu, escaped from me the question,
“What have you to gain from this mission?”
“my service, rend. balance score.
perceptions bend. vision poor.
what mend if flesh unscored.
see end — savour before.”
I started writing these words in my latest character, Kayden Williams. It was a weird cross section of my mental state, blending his with something that is still in me. I waited till the end of shooting to finish it as I didn’t know what I was trying to say with this thing, and because of that didn’t know how it would end. But as we are now wrapping, the last stanza almost wrote itself.
I don’t consider myself a “method actor,” consciously changing my real life behavior to change my character’s behavior. Rather, I feel the other way around. Living everyday with the words and feelings and thoughts of the character in turn affects my real life. And some of the most interesting experiences I’ve had in life are creating in these states of flux, then looking back months later to observe these creations born from psychological cross sections. The mind is a powerful thing and art we create is the pure distillation. So here’s to another time capsule and a picture to grab your attention.
Anyways, can’t wait for you guys to see this movie when it’s done. Seriously. Thanks for stickin around.

Cookin these abs like bbq, low and slow. The bbq i can’t eat right now. The kinda bbq which makes the meat fall off the bone but still has that crust on the outside. Like beef ribs. You ever have a beef rib? Esp with vinegar heavy sauce; Carolina style all the way. Miss me with the Kansas city sweetness. But if you like sweet bbq you gotta try Chinese char siu. Thats the only sweet bbq that I’ll eat. And when you eat ribs, you gotta chew on the ends to get all the crunchy stuff. That’s honestly the best part. Same on buffalo wings. It’s a secret pet peeve i have when i see my friends not eat the wing ends. My mom used to crack open the bones and eat the marrow but that’s too far for me. Beef bone marrow I’ll do though. I dunno why i draw the line with marrow where i do. Seems irrational and frankly species-ist. Like what’s a cow got over a chicken? I’m deplorable. Bye. Kraków, Poland

casual july reading list
thoughts: i havent been reading too much lately because of work and play. reading for me, a lot of the time, can feel like a chore until i get some momentum going and feel inspired to invest time in slowing down. that sentiment feels contradictory at times, invest in slowing down. it almost seems counterproductive. but ive been feeling overwhelmed with work and whats been going on in our country that i find myself getting stressed out for no reason, and that is hindering my inspiration for anything, really. so investing in slowing down im hoping is the remedy to that. i chose books that can be read in short spurts so i also dont feel like a failure for not reading long enough and can get some satisfaction from small progress. i also realize that my i’s are not capitalized and that’s because i downloaded the italian language onto my keyboard and they have frequent uncapitalized i’s and frankly i find them non intimidating and nice to look at. maybe because its a short line with a dot on top instead of a bewildering wall spanning the entire width of the type line proclaiming “ME.” if you capitalize your i’s, youre frankly a narcissist
