Kathy lifted me when I desperately needed it. I remember her voice radiating from my phone, spilling hope and resilience through the Chemo ward as we chatted while I was hooked up during an infusion. Kathy’s efforts have changed the outcome for countless cancer patients. When a trip I tried to to take for @themmrf fund raising event (the pioneering organization she started to accelerate treatment options for MM patients) was thwarted by my side effects, I recall her telling me : ‘take rest Lisa. This is a marathon. You can’t run it all at once. Save your energy and be kind to yourself.’ Dearest Kathy, you’ll get through this, but I want to echo back the same. You have been tireless, you’ve achieved the impossible, now is the time to lean on others and nurture your body and soul.
