This is a pure appreciation post for @runa_ewok I am so in love with my dog. We’d just gotten into bed tonight, when I caught her trying to clean her feet, so popped her in the bath tub for a quick paw scrub. After I finished her blow dry, she transitioned into her usual zoomies, but this time around grabbed my slippers and tried to persuade me to play an old game we hadn’t played since she was a pup – she hasn’t grabbed my slippers for about 18 months. It made me so so happy to see how excited she was playing an old game she used to adore. After a few minutes of slipper wrestling (don’t knock it until you’ve tried it) I did my end of play command – ‘finished now’, and she immediately dropped the slippers and calmed her little excited self down. I lifted her back into her pink fluffy doughnut bed – which is on my bed – and as I did so, she really looked up at me, holding my gaze more firmly than usual. It was like she was thanking me. Thanking me for making her all clean, and warm and for taking the time to play her favourite puppyhood game. Her sweet look was saying ‘thank you for understanding me and loving me Mummy’ 🥹 It really amazes me how two completely different species can create such an incredible bond ❤️ Love you Runie 😘 📸 @davidreissphotography
🚨 Spoiler 🚨 Episode 9 ‘All Those Who Wander’ gave me an opportunity to rock out a teensy bit of my parkour. The run/slide/jump into the pod to trap the Gorn was all me, and I loved that Neil our amazing stunt Co-ordinator allowed me to do it. I had to quickly put this reel together last year for an audition, and ya know what, I’m ‘Feeling Good’ about it, which means you guys get a sneak peak of the stunt rehearsals for Ep1 and Ep9 (towards the end of the video). Note the angle used isn’t the best to show it off, but it’s all I have 😉 Fun facts: 1. I got into parkour because my little sister @lizzychong said ‘if you wanna do action films you should do parkour’. She just didn’t want to go on her own 👀 But we were both hooked from our first class. As ex-pro dancers, it was like dancing over/under/through urban terrain and so much fun. Thanks to @dan_edwardes @lonetraceur and @kevininmotion we got pretty decent at it. Parkour section 🎥 by @lonetraceur 2. The sword fighting footage was put together in 24 hours. It was a quick turnaround audition for a DC movie… Guess which film and which role? *Answer below ⬇️ Thanks again to @dan_edwardes @lonetraceur (🎥 by), @kevininmotion @lizzychong I was able to pull it off. Not to mention the help of super stunt woman @fizzlewizz aka Princess Leia stunt double 🙌🏼 We will work together one day Fizz!! 3. Mikayla W.M.D. was a short directed by #ciaránfoy of ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’. To my knowledge it was never completed – Ciarán got super busy – so if he finds out this is up he may ask me to take it down. Good job I can’t find him on here to tag! 4. In the rehearsals bit, that last right handed punch may or may not have broken a nose 👀 Who’s, I can’t say 🤷🏻♀️ 5. Yes. We didn’t have the kind of money it would take and therefore couldn’t accept the placement. But after yet more hard work and graft, my Mum managed to garner the help of The Shepherd Street Trust (see bio) who paid for my first year of studies. It had always been a dream of mine to give back to underprivileged children and that’s exactly what I hope to do with my Star Trek inspired crowdfunding campaign. 🚨 Spoiler Alert 🚨 Last Princess Thalia post. I promise. Fun fact 1: The singing was a personal choice. In Ep 2 LA’AN suggests she can’t sing so I wanted to play the complete opposite. At the end of this scene, as the valiant crew exit the ‘war room’, I sang them off with a different version of the ‘Mourning Song’ for each take. Whatever tune/words came into my head in the moment. It was SO much fun 😂 I haven’t seen the final episode, but I’m assuming those songs didn’t make the cut! Fun fact 2: That dress was VERY heavy and 6ft wide. Walking down those corridors half the set would end up under my dress. Fun fact 3: I couldn’t bend down in it to lift Runa from the floor so the lovely @asal_az was on hand to pass @runa_ewok to me before and after every take. Fun fact 4: As you can imagine, I was very sad when I had to take the dress off for the last time. It felt like I’d just wrapped on a mini princess movie!
