Happy World Diabetes day! Talk about Instagram vs. reality! I wanted to show off my cool custom @pumppeelz patch cover on my @dexcom so I took the boys to the park. Cut to an hour later I was dealing with an urgent low. This is a real #seediabetes moment. It’s a good lesson that your glucose doesn’t always cooperate, and you gotta roll with the punches. I definitely chose the right team for the patch since they help me so much through my lows. This is how I feel when I’m low, foggy. Even in paradise, you need to keep your levels in mind because being a T1D means you have #nodaysoff. While I was on my Honeymoon in Hawaii I took too much insulin to correct a high before I went for a swim in the pool. Luckily my Dexcom G6 let me know I was low and I made it back to the room for snacks just in time. No matter how prepared you are for T1D, something can always go wrong. #tbt to this wild moment filming Shark Killer in South Africa. We needed to get the shot of me diving in after my partner @ericacerra with a knife in hand. Running low on time and prop knifes, I offered to just go for it without checking in with the director. After I came up the decision was obviously made to not do that again. Luckily we got the shot in one try, and I held on to the knife, and didn’t get stabbed. Good times! 🤙🏼
