Megha Gupta Instagram – Now that we are establishing alcohol is best avoided, what’s the alternative ? 

The one thing I go for, at home or outside, is sparkling water. It’s refreshing, hydrating and won’t raise my glucose. 

It makes sense to clarify here that it’s different from soda water, in the sense that soda water is filtered/tap water that has minerals added to and is always forced carbonated. Sparkling mineral water comes from a natural source and is naturally sparkling. 

You can add plain salt and lemon juice to it, that’s one option. Mint leaves too. 

The other option is make this delicious healthy witchy concoction of Apple cider vinegar, rosemary and cinnamon  and store it in the fridge, add to your sparkling water and it’s so refreshing and delicious !

And as an ex beer drinker.. pretty damn close to a good cider on a hot summer afternoon. Look at that beer-ish fizz ! 

Tulsi has also been shown to counter metabolic stress through normalization of blood glucose, blood pressure and lipid levels, and psychological stress through positive effects on memory and cognitive function and through its anxiolytic and anti-depressant properties. Skip it if you don’t have easy access to it.

I don’t always feel like eating. Some days I’m fasting, some days i want some other meat (mostly pork) and some days eggs + bacon. Then sometimes what I want isn’t available, or I’m travelling. I always always get my nutrition in with these magic boxes by @tothebonesupplements
