Perhaps the book that has re acquainted me with reading like a human being again (rather than a raccoon where I go from back to front reading chunks of chapters #adhd). This book is astonishing. An honest portrayal of the roller coaster that is a mother/daughter relationship. Also, Michelle writes about food in a way where I am somehow starving for Korean foods I’ve never tried even after downing a king size peanut M & M bag. I cried a few times throughout this book. The last cry was during her thank you’s. She’s that kind of writer: artful, sensorial, utterly captivating and most importantly she never tells you how to feel, she just let’s you feel it. @jbrekkie just laid it down. Pick it up.

I’ve spent the last year being a substitute teacher/house restorer. There were moments where I couldn’t imagine being on stage and falling into this dream again. But here we are. It is an absolute privilege to get to do this for a living. Thank you to @cellobell and @skyeayeaye for lending their immense talent and sensitivity. Thank you to all of the folks who showed up for us. Thank you to the venue teams for holding on. Thank you to @mariogalvang and @rishonblumberg for making this tour happen. Tonight is our last show. I’m writing a new record and diving in hard so that it doesn’t get released during the next pandemic 100 years from now.
