Dissident rapper Toomaj Salehi is in grave danger in Iran.
Detained since October 2022, after joining street protests, he is now facing charges that could carry the death penalty or years of imprisonment.
“I can confidently say that if it weren’t for the media coverage and international pressure in the early days and weeks, Toomaj might not be alive today,” a source told the Center for Human Rights in Iran, adding that the support has since faded.

He was a voice of Iran’s protest movement and now he could be hanged or jailed for years for peacefully raising his voice.
