Celebrating another year on this beautiful planet. Yesterday I turned 25 😉 and it was a perfect day. The weather was beautiful, I was surrounded by family, I celebrated the day with my bro in law and we played a game of bocce. I didn’t make any wishes this year (probably because the kids blew out the candles before I could) because I already have everything I could possibly want. Don’t get me wrong I always look for opportunities to grow personally, but I have so many other blessings. Thanksgiving is around the corner and “Cooking a la Layla” is back. If you are looking for an easy desert, Layla and Cusipro have you covered with this deconstructed apple crumble recipe. Layla placed this desert in the Cusipro Leakproof Glass Jars. In fact, when whipping up this recipe she used the Cusipro Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls (one of our favourite kitchen tool), Cusipro Stainless Steel Measuring Cups & Spoons (also a must have), the Cusipro apple Corer and Cusipro Ice Cream Scoop & Stack. All stuff that have been clutch in the kitchen. Deconstructed Apple Crumble Recipe (4 jars) Ingredients: The Crumble 1 Cup Flour 3/4 Cup Brown sugar (dark or light) 1/2 tsp Cinnamon 1 tspBaking powder 1/2 tsp Salt 1/4 cup Melted butter The Apple 🍎 Pie Filling 2 Apples (peeled, cored and sliced small and evenly) 2 tsp Brown sugar 1 tsp Maple syrup 1 tbsp Lemon juice 1 tsp Flour 2 tbsp Melted Butter Directions: The Crumble In a bowl mix all your crumble ingredients, place on a tray with parchment paper in the oven at 375 for 10 minutes or until golden. Check frequently because you don’t want it to burn. The Apple 🍎 Pie Filling In bowl, mix all ingredients except for the butter. In a pot, melt butter and pour all ingredients into the pot once melted. Cool everything at a low heat until fully cooked and apples are sauce. Tip: Add a bit water to pot if it starts to burn. Assemble: In Cusipro Leakproof Glass Jars add a layer of crumble, then a layer of apple pie filling, topped with crumble. Finish it off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and serve. Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe: 1 cup Milk 1 3/4 cup Heavy Cream 3/4 cup Sugar 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract Mix milk and sugar together, add the remaining ingredients and mix.
