This beautiful, funny, smart and very brave creature of delight is @remymarthaller . She stood her ground in @theornamentfilm while my character went loco and scared the bejesus out of everyone on set. When the dust settled, she had the insight to tell me ‘you’re a bad mom in the movie but a good person in real life’. She’s 7. It took a great weight off my heart since even the ‘act’ of nastiness and abuse towards little humans feels so unforgivable. But this is the message of the film. Thank you Remy, for forgiving me that day. Thank you to her mom, who wept on the sidelines knowing I didn’t mean it but felt scared for her little daughter anyway. Thank you @jinjara and @thejordanconnor and team for stepping forward to recreate this real life horror in order to heal the past and thus the future. 🙏🏽💜
