The character of Luna was disturbing and upsetting to play. Luckily, we used a child body double for most of her reverse shots, so that brave little Remy did not have to be there to take the brunt of this woman’s psychosis. Sadly, the creator of this film, @jinjara had no choice but endure these attacks during her own childhood, on which the film is based. I’ve been nominated for best actress at the Leo awards, but more than that, I hope The Ornament serves as a reminder that female abusers are real, terrifying and dangerous. Speak up if you are at the mercy of one. Congratulations Jinjara, @thejordanconnor @kentdonguines @michaelwylam_dp everybody involved for this important achievement. #theornament #leoawards2024
Thank you for all the birthday wishes and encouraging words. This year has been an uphill battle. I’m still pushing forward so that I can turn around and enjoy that beautiful view. Or perhaps I’m just advancing to plummet off the awaiting precipice. Nothing would surprise me at this point. Huge love and thanks to those who stuck to their word, stuck by me and continue to behave with integrity. For those that didn’t, I’m glad you’re behind me. This little nugget is 16. I don’t know how it happened. Truly, I don’t, but some time between then and now, there was a whole lot of laughing, quite a bit of playing, a phenomenal amount of dessert eating, more laughing, the occasional bout of crying (mostly mine the rest was @philboltt 😂), traveling, mountain climbing, some journeys completed … and some just begun. And then more cake. To say I love you, Jupiter, doesn’t even begin to tell this story. Go big, my boy. Go big and (always) come home ❤️🥲

TODAY IS A MASSIVE DAY IN CANADA. IT IS A HUGE BREAKTHROUGH IN THE CLIMATE CRISIS! For anyone who doesn’t know @kenwukenwu and his team @endangeredecosystemsalliance @ancientforestalliance it’s time you did! This tiny team, has worked tirelessly, and with very little financial support, to find collaboration, funding and sustainable income streams between government and First Nations and local communities and industry, so that these beautiful spaces can be protected. If you want more of These sacred and essential natural places to be protected, please support these guys! 🌳🌸❤️ Repost from @kenwukenwu • Today is a GREAT day – I feel a huge sense of happiness, relief and contentment inside ❤ The Ahousaht and the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation and the BC NDP government announced the official protection of 76,000 hectares of Clayoquot Sound in various conservancies – an area about the size of Manning Provincial Park. This would be the largest protected areas victory for old-growth temperate rainforests in BC in almost two decades (since the various conservancies were announced in the Great Bear Rainforest and Haida Gwaii in 2006). This important milestone which includes support for sustainable economic development in the communities is thanks to the First Nations leadership and community members, with support from the BC NDP government, the federal Liberal government and conservation groups particularly Nature United over many years. Undoubtedly the Ahousaht and Tla-o-qui-aht vision here will inspire other communities across BC and Canada seeking to protect the ecosystems that support their cultures, economies and well-being!
