Rain Dove Dubilewski Instagram – Do You relate to this? I’ve never really been built for small talk. I find it unnecessary and boring. I’d prefer sitting in silence to saying things that are of little memory or depth. In the world of dating- especially in person- this has led to some very awkward moments! Some may say I’m a bit intense- some may say that they are happy to dive into the deep water of dialogue instead of skirting around intention. All I know is that I’m looking for the You that is truly You… not the chatbot call and response version of You.
In the past I only felt that this depth could be discovered in person. However, I’ve recently witnessed that dating online is a way to safely save people time and energy. To express intentions and dive deep with few consequences. To test the waters without much pressure- and to be beyond even the spoken part of understanding. Memes, games, music- so many ways to connect deeper without the dreaded small talk. Or even having to talk at all.
