JUST GOT AN AMAZING SURPRISE GIFT!
Marwan is incredibly smart and talented. He uses materials he finds in nature and comes up with incredible creations. More impressive tho are his mechanical abilities. He has had zero formal training, but he makes cars that actually move from old batteries and cables and cardboard.
Its something of a miracle that he’s still alive. When Marwan was barely two years old his home in Syria was hit and flames consumed him. He sustained severe burns to the left side of his face, neck, arm, and hand. There were no doctors or hospitals in their area and snipers everywhere. After some time the family was able to get away but remained displaced inside Syria for years before they were able to cross into Lebanon. In other words Marwan spent years without receiving the treatment he needed.
Through my charity @inaraorg, thanks to your donations, Marwan has already undergone several different skin expander surgeries and his burn scars are doing much better. Over the years he’s been in and out of school, driven away by bullies who mock him for his scars. But now he’s back and stronger. He’s learning how to cope with and respond to the cruel remarks of strangers and his peers. He’s understanding that while he may be perceived as “different” he is not “less than”.
This is what you did for Marwan when you donated to INARA. You changed the course of his life. You gave him his agency, improved his physical and mental health, restored his ability to see a future beyond his injuries.
