It’s our last night at the lake tonight. Every year, I look forward to these handful of days so much, full of laughter and music and stories. This has been a year of so much change, but thankfully—and I am so thankful!—some things do stay the same. Today the ice cream truck came and I made a cardboard dollhouse with some of the most imaginative kids ever. And the summer is only just starting! Here’s to days ahead of peace and fun (remember those?) for everyone. It’s like the beginning of a novel. Who knows what can happen?

Today is my birthday. It’s been a year! Actually, if I am honest, the last three have taught me so much. The highest highs and truly some lows I wasn’t sure I’d endure. So grateful to everyone who has sent a comment or thumbs up along the way. Man, have I learned a lot. Here’s to summer, y’all. ☀️☀️☀️ (yes, I am currently obsessed with miniatures.)

It’s that time of year when it seems everyone is off doing something awesome. Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE seeing my friends happy. But there are times, on a Sunday morning, when you realize your own life is drastically dull. Like, basically watching the hummingbirds and 90 Day Fiancé The Other Way while drinking hot water because you’re too anxious for much caffeine dull . At the same time, things are NUTS: end of school, beginning of camp, endless forms (driving school? What?). This weird balance of rushing and stillness, I have learned, is what my life looks like being lived. Just watch the hummingbirds circle, rest and scuffIe. They know. 🙌🏻🦜

It was SO fun to sit down with @hatespinnerbaitpod and talk books, waitressing and life. What a great way to celebrate my favorite holiday! Link in bio. Happy Fourth, everyone!
Tough week. Hang in there, y’all. Tomorrow is a new day. ⭐️
