It was 10 years ago today that Muzzy passed away. She was loved by everyone. Literally. I don’t think she had any enemies! She was everyone’s favorite. Even the postman, bank tellers, and grocers loved her. If you knew her, she would bring your her favorite homemade plum or strawberry jam or stitchery as a gift. She was funny: she loved to tell a good story or hear a good story, but don’t talk too long or you’ll bore her! 😂She loved every holiday and sent me and the family a card for every one! She loved all kinds of music and sang (terribly) and danced whenever she felt like it. We shared a mutual love for Frank Sinatra. She had so many “isms” that only our family understands. 😂 But my favorite thing of all is when she “got the giggles”. It was the best. Our laughs merging into one big cacophony! We all miss you Muzzy! ♥️

We all fell in love! Even the guy behind us was in love, and kept yelling “Tinaaaa! Tinaaaa! “. Now as a family joke, whenever we talk about Tina, we yell “Tinaaaa!!” Thank you, to my friend @tarogold who co-wrote “Happiness Becomes You” for bringing me to see opening night of “Tina!” Her whole life was definitely exclamatory! I admired her strength, her unwavering faith in our shared Buddhist practice, and her ability to ROCK OUT! This musical was nothing less!! Crying and dancing throughout! The cast beautifully dedicated the show to her. #simplythebest

This is how I’ve been explaining the strike to my friends; most of whom did not know it is more about pay, and not just AI. I am part of the 2% of actors in the SAG-AFTRA Guild that the vice president is speaking about. I am the working class actor. Last year, after over 30 years in this business, I did not qualify for health insurance. Im back on track now, but it may not be the last time I lose my insurance. It’s a knock on effect: residuals used to help me qualify but streaming and inequity has taken that away. It’s a feast or famine business. Performers should be paid to survive the famine. Or how about thrive? Last night, I took myself on a date to see Defining Courage, a show about Americans soldiers of Japanese ancestry who served in the segregated military units of the 100th IB, 442nd RCT, MIS, and 522nd FAB in WWII. They were the fiercest units of that time. No one really knows their story. Neither did I. A keynote speech cleverly turned into a performance by @abc7davidono accompanied by amazing live musicians. Stood and looked at this beautiful view of Dtla afterwards to reflect. 🕊️
